Pennsylvania College of Art & Design: Main Gallery

The Main Gallery at PCA&D features works by nationally- and regionally-recognized artists and is a venue for public events year-round.
Graduates of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design are strong thinkers, strong makers, strong communicators. As central Pennsylvania’s only four-year, fully-accredited professional art college, PCA&D offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in digital media, graphic design, illustration, photography, and fine art. In addition, adults, teens and youth can enjoy non-credit and credit continuing education classes and workshops throughout the year.
The Main Gallery at PCA&D features works by nationally- and regionally-recognized artists and is a venue for public events year-round.
PCA&D is known for its annual signature events. These community-based projects include the “Mosaic Project,” the 24-hour “Designathon,” and Lancaster’s largest one-day gallery event by a single organization, the “Senior Show & Celebration.”
In fact, PCA&D alone generates over 70,000 visits to Lancaster city each year by people attending artist talks, exhibits and special events, and students enrolled in BFA and continuing ed programs.
PCA&D also features art that is available for the public to enjoy 24/7. The Art Garden, it’s Poetry Paths mural, and PCA&D’s facade are testaments to the college’s support of public art. In the Art Garden, a sculptural installation proclaims “Create/Influence” and was created by nationally-acclaimed designers Gail Anderson and Joe Newton. “Create/Influence” was dedicated in September 2014 and in addition to Gail and Joe’s installation, the Art Garden features flowering Yoshino cherry trees, rotating artwork, and seating so the public may enjoy it year-round.
