Come Celebrate with Us! City Events
All year long, Lancaster City is host to large festivals, cultural events, block parties, and more! The City of Lancaster's special events help us celebrate both the unique cultures and communities that call Lancaster home and attract visitors to Downtown Lancaster City.
Lancaster City’s largest festival of the year, Celebrate Lancaster is held the last Friday in June and celebrates Lancaster’s unique culture and diversity. The festival which includes live music, food trucks, and fireworks also serves as the City’s Fourth of July celebration.
Lancaster City for the Holidays
Here in Lancaster City, we believe in holiday magic! From Santa’s arrival at the Mayor’s Tree Lighting to lowering the “Red Rose” on New Year’s Eve, our holiday season is packed with longtime traditions and fresh, exciting new events each season.
Each and every first Friday of the month, Lancaster City celebrates its fabulous arts community with new gallery openings, special events, and live performances, and more. Shops and restaurants often extend their hours and host unique promotions as well. See the City come alive on First Friday!
On the third Friday of the month, Lancaster City celebrates Music Friday in honor of our live music scene filled with local bands, musicians, and singer-songwriters. The Lancaster Office of Promotion and Music for Everyone host the “Music Friday Series” from May to September.
Red Rose Run
One of Lancaster City’s longest-running traditions, the Red Rose Run has taken place for over forty years. The 5-mile race goes through Lancaster City and Lancaster County Central Park. Get active and test your skills with the Red Rose Run!
