On the outside brick wall of Water Street Ministries’ outreach building along Conestoga Street, a large mural depicts a small stream flowing down the middle of city block. Green banks lead to housefronts. People are gathered around the water in a sense of community. In the foreground, the limbs of two large oak trees frame the scene. At the top of the 30-feet-wide-by-20-feet-high mural are the words from Deuteronomy 8:7: For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land — with brooks, streams and deep springs gushing out into the valley and hills.
