The Museum’s continuously expanding collection, which now consists of 42 Charles Demuth originals, are displayed in the artist’s studio so that our visitors can experience the environment in which Demuth created his more than 1,000 watercolors, drawings and architectural oils. Over 10,000 patrons per year stand in his studio and look out at the antique garden from which Demuth drew inspiration for his beloved and masterful floral watercolors, or see the view that motivated Demuth to undertake his Precisionist works based on Lancaster’s buildings. Demuth’s legacy as a premier American modernist continues to expand, as the Demuth Museum maintains a highly regarded exhibition schedule and educational outreach program.
