Discover gallery openings and artist showcases, enjoy diverse dining options from local restaurants, shop one-of-a-kind finds in downtown boutiques, and take in special events happening across the city. 

First Friday at the Fulton

Make the Fulton Theatre your must-stop destination for First Friday!

Drop in between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM to explore The Grand Lady of Prince Street. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes tour of our historic 1852 theatre, enjoy live music from local community partners, and have a chance to win two tickets to a show in our 25/26 Season. Don’t forget to visit the cash bar! It’s the perfect way to experience the landmark generations of Lancastrians have cherished.

First Friday at the Museum

4-8pm Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum

This November, the Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum will be joining the city’s vibrant First Friday tradition. On the first Friday of each month, Lancaster comes alive with gallery openings, pop-up musicians, special showcases, and extended hours at cultural venues throughout the city.

We’re excited to be part of this community-wide celebration of art, history, and culture. On Friday November 7th, the museum will be open from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and admission is just $5 per person—the perfect opportunity to bring friends and family to explore our exhibits after hour

Bouquet Making Workshop

The Paza Experience

Celebrate the rich heritage of Native American culture with Lakota grass and hoop dancer and flute player Delwin Fiddler Jr. of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, and Samora Free, an indigenous singer, multi-instrumentalist, and soundscape artist from NYC. Derived from the Lakota word for “Tree of Life,” Paza symbolizes our connection to the Earth, ourselves, and all living beings.

First Friday Covenant Chocolate Chip Cookie Concert Series

Voices of Freedom Choral Concert

7pm-8:15pm J.P. McCaskey High School

Voices of Freedom is a McCaskey high school music course celebrating the diversity of our culture today through dynamic expression. The course exposes students to the African-American roots of gospel music, and the secular influence of gospel music on the fabric of American music, society and culture. This course reflects no particular faith or denominational practice.

Organic Reflections – Thanksgiving Delights

8pm First Reformed Church

Organist Larry Hershey will present a free 30 minute concert at 8 PM on First Friday, November 7 at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange Street, in downtown Lancaster. The program, “Thanksgiving Delights” will include “Fanfare and Processional” by Keith Chapman, former organist of The Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, “Folk Tune” by Percy Whitlock, and Richard Elliott’s arrangement on “Shall We Gather at the River?”. The program will conclude with the Virgil Fox arrangement of Bach’s “Now Thank We All Our God” (Cantata 79).

First Friday Art Opening at Third Story

Third Story is thrilled to be presenting our second annual “717 Squared” community show featuring the work of more than 90 local artists. Each artist has created their artwork on a 10 x 10 inch wood panel. The show is filled with a variety of themes and mediums, as varied as the artists of Lancaster themselves! This show is a little unusual; rather than waiting for the end of the show to claim your purchases, sales will be made off the wall. Come take a look at all the creativity Lancaster has to offer!
