Lancaster Living Poetry Museum Documentary Screening

Sunday, Dec. 7th | 1:00PM | Zoetropolis | Get Tickets

Dana Kinsey, The Lancaster City Poet Laureate, transforms her small Pennsylvania city into a living, breathing museum — not of statues and silence, but of voices. She gathers a diverse ensemble of poets, actors, and students, each tasked with embodying a historical poet and bringing their words to life in streets, cafés, and libraries. Over weeks of rehearsals, we follow 21 performers as they wrestle with nerves, forgotten lines, and the challenge of channeling someone else’s voice — until, costume by costume, line by line, they begin to transform. From kitchen-table rehearsals to the electric energy of First Friday and the final showcase at the Ware Center, The Lancaster Living Poetry Museum captures the messy, joyful, and deeply human process of making art public.
