On First Friday, January 3, “Organic Reflections”, a free 30 minute concert, will feature resident organist Larry Hershey playing the vintage 1958 analog Allen organ at First Reformed Church, 40 E Orange Street in downtown Lancaster. The Lancaster Museum of Art is proud to host the national tour of the Kennedy Center’s VSA Emerging Young Artists Program juried exhibition. The exhibition features works from 15 artists with disabilities at the beginning of their careers, including Lancaster painter Malcolm Corley. This year’s theme asked the artists to connect, to span new distances, and to see unexpected relationships.
Named Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Emerging Artist of 2019, Endea Owens’ love for her craft shines from the stage through her playing and sparkling persona. During her brief career she has toured with the likes of singers Jennifer Holliday, Jazzmeia Horn, as well as trombonist Steve Turre. Hear works from her recently released album, “Feel Good Music,” with original compositions and a range of interpretations of blues and jazz hits.

Ana Vizcarra Rankin, a Philadelphia-based mixed-media artist, presents an Artist Talk in conjunction with the opening of her exhibit, Butterfly Effect, that evening in The Gallery at PCA&D. MU’s Jazz Ensemble will present a concert in Holy Trinity’s historic sanctuary. The Ensemble’s repertoire includes classic swing, jazz standards, and contemporary fusion styles.
