Lancaster will celebrate National Poetry Month by preparing for The Lancaster Living Poetry Museum II. The event will be staged twice, the first time as part of First Friday festivities on May 1, 2026, from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. 16 performers will embody poets and musicians at four downtown venues throughout the city in one-person shows that provide education and entertainment to audiences free of charge. This event is an initiative founded and directed by Lancaster City Poet Laureate Dana Kinsey.

Performers will bring poets to life at the following venues: Carol Allen as Shakespeare, PAN as Amelia Earhart, Lee Morr as Shel Silverstein, and Coral Rites as Andrea Gibson in the Boardroom at the Lancaster Public Library; Maria Thompson-Corley as Lucille Clifton, Malia Burris as Noʻu Revilla, Bronte Spidaliere as Louise Glück, and Ruel Rahim as Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti at Lancaster Art Vault; Beimnet Getahun as Hiwot Adilow, Circumstantial Saint as Langston Hughes, Dana Kinsey as Edna St. Vincent Millay, and sean poets as Andrea Gibson in the Willow Room at Southern Market; and Natalie Knox as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Sir Dominique Jordan as Muhammad Ali, Starr Snyder as Jewel, and Ángel Rafael as Miguel Piñero at People & Things. Poet Skyler Gibbon will serve as a guide, escorting the audience to each location.
