August 19 at 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Historic Rock Ford’s Untold Stories of the American Revolution Lecture Series welcomes Matthew Kalos as he presents “The Archaeology and Memory of the Paoli Battlefield.”
This lecture will focus on the archaeology of the Paoli battlefield and how it is remembered throughout history. In addition to covering the history of the battle, Dr. Kalos will discuss how memory is created in different historical moments, and how archaeologists can approach the production and maintenance of mnemonic practices. Such ideas are especially important as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary.
This presentation will begin at 6:30 PM in the Langmuir Education Room on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn. It will be approximately 1.5 hours in length. Please note that admission is for the lecture and does not include the Snyder Gallery.
