Lancaster Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a community tradition that promotes reading for fun and lifelong enrichment. This summer, we will embrace the beauty of art in all its forms and create a colorful tapestry of experiences for everyone.
Join us for a series of exciting STEAM programs led by science educator and advocate Ky the Chemist!
In collaboration with STEAM Sneakerheadz™, we’re bringing you a one-of-a-kind summer workshop series that makes science and chemistry fun, fresh, and totally hands-on! This isn’t your average library lineup—we’re fusing art, design, and real experiments to spark your creativity and curiosity.
Our program kicks off with a Community Workshop (walk-ins welcome!) on June 21 where participants will make mini-sneaker keychains. In July, we meet every Thursday from 1-3PM.
July 3: Vinyl Record Art
July 10: UV Color Changing DNA Necklaces
July 17: Sneaker Cleaner/Freshener
July 24: Body Scrub
July 31: DIY Candles
Each workshop is powered by STEAM Sneakerheadz™, the creative science brand making chemistry cool by connecting it to sneaker culture, self-expression, and everyday life. If you’re a teen who loves to make things, ask questions, and try new stuff—this summer’s for you.
Teens who attend four or more workshops are invited to a graduation ceremony on August 2, 2025.
Ages 13-18 · Registration is required for July workshops and opens on June 1
