Opening reception for the exhibition “Stay Alive / Make Art / Lancaster” at the Lancaster Museum of Art.
Reception at 5 pm, followed by a panel discussion at 6 on the topic of “ART CERVEAU” (ART BRAIN): A MENTAL HEALTH MAKING MOVEMENT. Our star-studded panelists will talk about the intersections, myths, and truths about the connections between creativity, mental health, and substance use. The exhibition features the work of Amos Lemon Burkhart, a young artist who died in 2018 in a drug and alcohol related drowning. In addition to the artwork there are hands-on activities to engage conversation and allow participants to make, do, see, feel, learn, and respond to the topics.
