Lancaster City Bureau of Police Bid Farewell to Mounted Unit with Community Gathering

With overwhelming gratitude, the Police Bureau will bid farewell to the Lancaster City Police Mounted Unit. After 40 years of dedicated service, mounted officers and horses have left an unforgettable mark on the Lancaster community. Please join the Bureau and the City of Lancaster in paying tribute to the end of an era by commemorating their legacy and celebrating their service on Saturday, Nov. 4th at the Long’s Park horse stables.

The Lancaster City Police Bureau is grateful for the support our Mounted Unit has received from our community, the Police Foundation, and City staff throughout the years. This farewell party is the Bureau’s way of expressing its gratitude to the horses and officers who have served Lancaster City since 1979.

This event is open to all members of the community wishing to come together to honor and recognize the mounted officers and horses, past and present, and to say goodbye to Jake, King, and Angus as they begin a new chapter. Light food and refreshments will be served at the event.
