Curio is honored to host the members of The Echo Valley Art Group in this very special exhibition. In celebration of their 80th anniversary, the members have come together to create a “Print Portfolio” highlighting the unique visual sensibilities of each member while working inside a set of parameters. Each print is to be eight inches square, and its root image was to be derived by a photo taken by each artist on their cell phone. An edition was made for each member and an additional print made specially for this exhibition.
The Echo Valley Art Group began in 1945 when artist Peggy P. Dodge invited a number of her creatively minded friends to join her on her farm in Neffsville PA for weekly art making and discussion sessions. These meetings became more structured over the years and membership was held at 25 active members. Today, each member is invited to join based on their individual achievements in the visual arts, exhibition history, and positive impact inside their communities through the use of their creative abilities. Together the group promotes an engaged and thoughtful sense of community through focused events such as the EVAG annual Art Auction & Sale, their support of The Lancaster Young Artist Awards, and their free Public Artist Lecture Series.
