Creative Quarters: The People & Places of the Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios Program

Creative Quarters features black and white photographs of the 60+ artists represented in Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios (HAHS), a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This exhibition of images of 19th and 20th century artists from across the country with their homes, studios, and landscapes they worked in captures the historical evolution of art in the U.S. The artists of HAHS represent diverse styles and mediums, including painting, sculpture, graphic arts, photography, furniture, and decorative arts. As a member of HAHS, the Demuth Museum is proud to highlight Charles Demuth’s contemporaries and other U.S. artists that have helped define American Art.
