October 11 @ 7:00 pm – October 22 @ 8:30 pm
A lecture about cars? Sure!
Do you love your car? Do you simply tolerate it? Do you ever wonder, “What IS a car?” Or “Why Are They Everywhere?”
Tom Becker has. He’s Founder and Curator of The Row House Forum and will be speaking on “Chariots of Desire: A Cultural Reflection on Cars and Where They’re Taking Us.”
You can expect slides, stories, analysis, refreshments, and lots of time for questions. Bring a friend whether they love cars or not!
Though he loves auto design and culture, Tom is an avid bicyclist, and walker. He studies and writes about urbanism and enjoys exploring towns anywhere.
Becker grew up in Watsontown, PA. and at one point owned five cars when he had a driveway. He now lives in the West End of Lancaster and owns one. He is a graduate of Bloombsurg University and earned his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis.
He founded The Row House, Inc. in 2010 as a way to host lectures and create civil discourse for the common good, rooted in Christian faith.
He and his wife Becky have five grown children, four in Philadelphia and one in Denver.
