PCA&D’s Main Gallery welcomes Callie Morton ’22, Fine Art, in an exhibition of her work completed during her time as the 2024-2025 Fine Art Artist in Residence.
Unearthing Solitude will be celebrated with an Opening Reception on First Friday, Sept. 5, from 5-9 pm. The work, Morton writes in an artist statement, “bridges together a journey of new life. Exploring themes of abandonment and identity through painting and printmaking, the work grew to tell my story of recovery. This body of work began in the midst of my addiction and through time found its conclusion in my life in recovery. Figures carry expressions and colors that explore playfulness and melancholy.
As the work progressed so did the willingness to play and experiment in connection with artistic principles of color, shape, and composition…”
