Local musicians Kristen Albert, French Horn and Doug Albert, Trumpet, will join Organist Larry Hershey for a 30 minute First Friday concert, “Advent Tidings” at 8 PM on December 1, 2023 at First Reformed Church, 40 East Orange Street. Selections include “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” arranged by Christina Harmon, and “What Child is This?” adapted by Paul Halley, and Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Wachet Auf” (Sleepers Awake!) from Cantata 140. Kristen Albert will be featured on Daniel Pinkham’s “The Salutation of Gabriel”, and Doug Albert will perform Robert Ewing’s arrangement of “Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion” from Messiah by George Frederic Handel.

This series of free 30 minute concerts is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of inspiring organ music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
