SUMMARY:We the People First Friday
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Lancaster AAPI\, The Arts at MU proudly presents “The Ninth Art: Inside the World of Asian Cuisine Through Sight\, Smell\, and Taste\,” a curated\, live food demonstration showcasing Asian cuisine from around the world. A live violinist will play between each demonstration. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall\, with a reception to follow. \nIn the Regitz Gallery\, a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. will celebrate the opening of the exhibit Pilgrim Soul by Claire Louise Giblin. The exhibition will contain several new works in a numbered series titled “The Black Series.” The exhibit’s title\, Pilgrim Soul\, is a nod to the poem “When You Are Old” by W. B. Yeats\, a thoughtful tribute to age and love. The exhibit will be on display from May 3 through May 31. \nABOUT WE THE PEOPLE FIRST FRIDAY • Every First Friday during the performing arts season\, the Ware Center hosts community-centered performances and exhibits that represent the great mosaic of Lancaster and beyond with genres as diverse as our nation.
