DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Lancaster Museum of Art and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design to view more than 400 artworks by students across Lancaster County! \n\n\n\nLancaster County Young Artists is a regional competition that is open to any student\, grades 7 through 12\, attending school in a participating district or homeschooled. Categories include Apparel\, Ceramics & Glass\, Computer Art\, Drawing\, Fibers\, Graphic Design\, Jewelry & Metals\, Mixed Media\, Painting\, Photography\, Portfolio\, Printmaking and Sculpture. \n\n\n\nThe Scholastic Art Awards is the first level of a national art competition\, open to students grades 7 through 12. SUMMARY:LGBT Center of Central PA Pop-Up Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Pride Month and in conjunction with the special traveling exhibition Stay Alive / Make Art\, the LGBT Center of Central PA History Project will display a special one-day only pop-up exhibit of objects and photographs from their archives at the Lancaster Museum of Art. This mini exhibit will offer visitors a glimpse into our local LGBTQ+ community’s history and perseverance through the oral history interviews\, archival documents\, and artifacts collected by the Center. A special feature will outline the history of Common Roads\, a LGBTQ+ program for youth and young adults that fosters community and connection.

DESCRIPTION:Opening reception for the exhibition “Stay Alive / Make Art / Lancaster” at the Lancaster Museum of Art.\nReception at 5 pm\, followed by a panel discussion at 6 on the topic of “ART CERVEAU” (ART BRAIN): A MENTAL HEALTH MAKING MOVEMENT. Our star-studded panelists will talk about the intersections\, myths\, and truths about the connections between creativity\, mental health\, and substance use. The exhibition features the work of Amos Lemon Burkhart\, a young artist who died in 2018 in a drug and alcohol related drowning.
