DESCRIPTION:The Main Gallery at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) is excited to announce the return of artists Andrea N. Baldwin\, Sangyoon Lee\, and Heidi Henderson with Monologues of Being Seen. The exhibition will be open 5-8 pm on Nov. 1 for First Friday visitors. The group of artists visited PCA&D during the Spring 2024 semester\, hosting a talk about the project and accompanying workshops involving movement and 3-D scanning. Students\, staff\, and faculty who participated in the scanning will be represented in the show in miniature\, along with hundreds of other participants from the past decade. This multimedia\, interactive exhibition prompts viewers to think about perception individually and collectively.

DESCRIPTION:The Pennsylvania College of Art & Design Liberal Arts Department invites the public on Friday\, Oct. 4\, to the Diverse Voices Speaker Series: The Voice and Music of Daryl Davis. At 3:30 pm Davis will share his inspiring story about his work to achieve racial harmony and his powerful blues piano playing and singing. At 6 pm\, Davis presents an hourlong concert of the powerful blues and boogie-woogie piano playing that formed the spark of his race relations work. Davis sought the answer to the question How can you hate me if you don’t even know me? by interviewing Ku Klux Klan members\, some of whom ended up becoming his close friends\, leaving the Klan\, and giving him their robes and hoods.
