DESCRIPTION:On First Friday\, June 6\, the public is invited to stroll through the gardens and watch local artists at work or shop for a work of art that catches the eye at a free plein air event in the courtyard of First Reformed Church\, 40 E. Orange Street\, in downtown Lancaster.  The event will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm.  You may enter the courtyard from Orange Street to the left of the church\, or from Christian Street to the rear of the church.\n\nFirst Reformed Church is a diverse congregation with a continuing commitment to engaging downtown residents and guests\, including serving more than 16\,000 free meals each year for those confronting food insecurity. Art in the Garden is one way we share our urban garden with the community\, while supporting local artists.\n\nLocal artists are invited to join by contacting Theresa Rettig at 717-682-2240.  Bring your paints\, brushes\, easels\, table or pottery equipment\, and work on a piece\, or display your work for sale.

SUMMARY:Morrison to Play Pipe Organ Dedication
DESCRIPTION:Internationally acclaimed concert organist\, Alan Morrison\, will play the dedicatory concert for the recently completed Hill Byrne Christiansen Memorial Pipe Organ at First Reformed Church\, 40 East Orange Street in downtown Lancaster on Sunday\, November 17 at 3:00 PM. The organ\, in loving memory of Rita Jane (Barton) Hill Byrne and The Reverend Ronald and Darlene Christiansen\, is a rebuilt Sebastian Gundling organ that was repaired\, restored\, and enhanced under the craftsmanship of Larry Pruitt at Columbia Organ Works. Mr. Morrison enjoys a versatile career and his concert performances throughout North America\, South America\, Europe\, and Russia have all been received with enthusiastic praise for his quality programming\, colorful use of the organ and interpretive integrity. He is a regular performer at Marian Anderson Hall in Philadelphia\, where he performs as soloist\, concerto soloist\, with choral and brass groups\, and with The Philadelphia Orchestra. The concert in the historic 1854 First Reformed sanctuary is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow the recital.

A native of Baltimore\, Andrew has advanced degrees in classical guitar from Peabody Conservatory\, and is an enthusiastic performer\, bringing his music to formal concert stages as well as local events and non-traditional venues.
