We the People First Friday is a free monthly event that features community-centered performances and exhibits that represent the great mosaic of Lancaster and beyond with genres as diverse as our nation! FREE and open to the public. No tickets are required. Coming this month:
LUNA Dance
At 6:30 and 7:20 p.m. in the Salon, Lancaster-based contemporary dance company Luna Dance will take audiences out of this world, into a Luna experience, and back again with renewed energy and appreciation for life. The name “Luna” derives from Artistic Director Emmanuel’s Filipino roots, which he hopes to honor through a contemporary dance company that bears that name.
“Hearing of the Art” by Abner Gonzalez
In the Regitz Gallery from 6-8 p.m., a reception will celebrate the opening of the exhibit “Hearing of the Art” by Lancaster-based artist Abner Gonzalez. A lifelong, self-employed artist, Gonzalez learned the basics from his father and has never stopped building upon that foundation, having completed over 20 murals in his lifetime. He aims to create pieces that capture both the eye and the heart of the observer using pencil, charcoal, and acrylic.
