Souls Shot Portrait Project
June 2, 2023 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Souls Shot Portrait Project began in Philadelphia and their mission is to bring attention to and memorialize the lives lost and tragically altered due to gun violence. This traveling exhibition features portraits of 18 individuals lost to gun violence. The organization pairs artists with families or friends of gun violence victims for the artists to learn about the lives their loved ones lived and the legacy they’ve left. Artists then create unique portraits to honor the individuals lost. Souls Shot is grateful to be able to continue their mission in other parts of the state through this special exhibit.
All are welcome to join the opening reception at the Lancaster Museum of Art on Friday, June 2, from 5 – 8 pm. Attendees are encouraged to wear orange in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend, which takes place June 2-4, 2023.
