PCA&D First Friday: “Finding Karim”, the work of Karim Gavins ’20

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) is proud to present the exhibition “Finding Karim”, work by Karim Gavins ‘20. The exhibition runs through October 4 with a public reception in the College’s Main Gallery for First Friday on September 6 from 5-8 pm. In recent years, PCA&D has offered an Alumni Artist in Residence where the participating artist has an exhibition on PCA&D’s campus. Gavins completed his residency in May of 2024. “Last year we shifted exhibitions by artists in residence from the summer to the beginning of the academic year,” says Director of Exhibitions Alex Schaufele. “The opportunity to present the work of Gavins is exciting. It connects our students more closely to a dynamic alumnus and him to the larger community. It also is a style of exhibition that we haven’t done recently at PCA&D — a full-scale immersive installation in multiple levels of the gallery.” Join the show by using the custom Snapchat filter.
