Join us for a special group of workshops throughout the month of June, ‘My Lancaster’, hosted by the Crispus Attucks Community Center! Charles Demuth often painted scenes of Lancaster city, reflecting his surroundings and the architecture of his everyday life in Lancaster. Create art that depicts the buildings and structures that are the backdrop of YOUR everyday life at these workshops! All art pieces created in these workshops will be photographed for inclusion in a slideshow within the Smokestacks and Skyscrapers: Modern Moments from the 20th Century exhibit. Be sure to visit the Demuth Museum before July 25 to view the show!

Memories Flow: Meaningful Places in Watercolor

Age Group: All-Ages Youth
Instructor: Nichole Madonna, PCA&D Center for Creative Exploration

“Where were you when…?” The connection between spaces and memory is so strong. In this workshop, we will explore watercolor techniques to create paintings of a meaningful place in your life. We will experiment with processes such as wax resist, salt and rice texture, abstracting, and the impact of color. Two painting projects will be offered to cater to age, skill level, and interest.

Workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Visit demuth.org or call 717.299.9940 for registration information.
