First Friday at PCA&D: “Art Heals”

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design is pleased to present a Main Gallery exhibition of Art Heals, featuring works by Jennifer Quigley, MA, LPC, REAT. The show opens for First Friday, Aug. 6, and will run through Aug. 27 in The Gallery at PCA&D.

The Art Heals installation, composed of large-scale bandages, banners, and light elements, debuted for June First Friday. Since then it has occupied the College’s Art Garden and the campus exterior. This new Gallery exhibition highlights the preparatory sketches and mockups created by Quigley, giving insight into her creative process and the evolution of ideas behind this large-scale project.

“It is exciting to present this companion exhibit to give insight and context to our Art Heals exhibition,” says Alex Schaufele, Director of Exhibitions. “As a teaching institution, it is important to show the process as well as the final product.”

Quigley is PCA&D’s inaugural Healing Arts Artist in Residence, part of a pilot program that establishes an ongoing partnership between local medical facilities, community leaders, and the art and design education community.
