Book Launch for “Seeking Habitat,” Poems by Richard K. Kent

Join us First Friday, September 2nd as we partner with Pinyon Publishing for the official book launch of “Seeking Habitat”, Poems by Richard K. Kent. This one night event coincides with Kent’s solo exhibition “Layered Time: Photographs”, currently on display at Lancaster Galleries. Kent will be reading selected poems, and signed copies of the publication will be available by request. Join us from 5 – 8pm as we explore the temporal relationship between humans and nature through photography and poetry. Exhibition closes Saturday, September 3rd, and a sample of Kent’s work can be viewed below.

“Just Listen”

Late autumn—the leaves turned and mostly fallen.
In the house amid these woods all the mirrors

now are undisturbed, the summer folk gone.
From the window, someone could watch

last light caress the meadow, the little pond
gleaming. A wind blows through dark pines,

voice saying: For someone there’s an again
Listen. Just listen. What once so loved remains.
