Lancaster International Short Film Festival October 13, 2015October 13, 2015 By Sarah Tyler Hollywood comes to Lancaster City! The Lancaster International Short Film Festival kicks off its eighth season on November 12. Previously known as Rumschpringe International Short Film Festival, LISFF seeks to support the independent digital film community by offering a competitive film festival to inspire and motivate, developing Lancaster City into an annual destination for short film aficionados to experience the best of the contemporary art form. Filmmakers of all skill levels are encouraged to enter their work for the festival. The judges are more interested in an engaging story and clever editing rather than a high-budget film. Submissions should not exceed for than 40 minutes. All judges are chosen from the Lancaster community and will decide the winners of each category. LISFF collects film entries from around the world in the categories of Drama, Comedy, Horror, Animation, and Documentary. In each category, awards are presented for Grand Prize, Best Home Grown and Best Actor. The grand prize winner of the festival will receive $1,000. This year, selections will be screened from November 12-14 in downtown Lancaster, with the Horror selections to be screened on October 24. The Film Festival will be showing entries between Steinman Hall at The Ware Center, the Elk’s Club, and Zoetropolis Art House. The best of the festival will be screened on November 14 at the Green Room beginning at 9:35 pm, during which the grand prize winner will be announced.
