Lancaster Craft Beerfest Do’s & Dont’s Part II

Before the inaugural Lancaster Craft Beerfest in 2013, I wrote what turned out to be a pretty popular blog post (shout out to whoever posted it to Reddit!) about what you should and should not do at/before/after Beerfest. Now that I’ve got two years of experience under my belt, all of my previous advice still stands, but here are some updates before the third annual Beerfest this Saturday, August 29:

DO buy your tickets ASAP. They won’t be selling any tickets at the gates, so get them before it’s too late.

DON’T wear light colored clothing. I really mean it this time. I did not follow my own advice last year, and spilled three ounces of porter all over my cream colored top immediately upon arrival. This year Evil Genius will be serving their Purple Monkey Dishwasher, a must-try chocolate peanut butter porter, so just don’t chance it.

DO download Uber beforehand. Uber launched in Lancaster earlier this year, giving us even more options for safe rides home after a few too many samples. If you’re a new rider, enter the code VISITLAN15 for a free ride up to $20. While you’re at it, download Untappd if you don’t already use it. It’s a nice way to keep track of beers you try, plus it’ll likely send you a funny notification about drinking too much too fast when you enter 5 beers within a few minutes.

DON’T ignore ciders! Wyndridge Farm will be bringing unique flavors, like a cranberry hard cider. I’ll pull myself away from my usual IPAs to try that one.

Follow my advice or not – you’ll have a great time regardless! 64 breweries, food trucks, great music… what more could you want? See you there!

P.S. We’re giving away two pairs of tickets! Enter before 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Click here to enter.
