Valentine’s Day in Lancaster City February 9, 2015 By Alexandria Chiavetta Valentine’s Day (or weekend in this year’s case) brings about mixed feelings. Those in relationships often find the day a stressful, but enjoyable time to spend with their significant other. The single folks, however, often harbor negative feelings towards the day filled with flowers, candy, and folded cardboard valentines. Fortunately, the City of Lancaster has much to offer this weekend for both singles and couples alike. A limited number of tickets may be purchased at the door for Sweet Relief, the 4th annual Love146 Benefit Bake Off taking place at the Trust Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 14. This baking event is a fundraiser for Love146, an organization dedicated to ending sex trafficking. For those interested in fine dining, city restaurants like Citronnelle on West Orange Street and John J. Jeffries on Harrisburg Avenue are offering special gourmet courses with set prices for Valentine’s Day. The Pressroom, located on West King Street, will offer a special 4-course menu, featuring live music from local band Second Hand Suits. If you are looking to save some money this Valentine’s Day, check out BUiLDiNG CHARACTER‘s semi-annual warehouse sale, taking place from February 14-16 at their location on North Queen Street. Whether Valentine’s Day holds romantic plans, or just a night out with friends, the city of Lancaster is a great place to spend the weekend.
