Central Market Harvest Breakfast September 15, 2014September 15, 2014 By Amber Strazzo The start of fall conjures thoughts of Sunday football, crunchy leaves, and pumpkin-flavored everything. For those in Lancaster, fall means Harvest Breakfast at the Lancaster Central Market. Thought to have started over two decades ago after the 100th anniversary celebration, Harvest Breakfast does exactly what its name implies – celebrates the harvest season. According to market manager Jessica Mailhot, Harvest Breakfast has become Central Market’s largest annual event. The celebration is free, and includes children’s activities, music, entertainment, and, of course, food! Market stands prepare specialty breakfast items and sell them at tables lining the market alleys. Past offerings include breakfast sandwiches made with a Turkey Lady sausage patty, grilled onions and peppers and cheese on a Ric’s Bread English muffin; grilled sticky buns; pumpkin roll; Greek omelets; French toast made with cinnamon swirl bread; biscuits and gravy; bacon on a stick; baked oatmeal and more. In addition to food, stands will also sell autumn flowers and harvest-themed décor. As it often does, Harvest Breakfast coincides with Fall ArtWalk, making Saturday, October 4 the perfect day to visit Downtown Lancaster. See YOU at Market!
